gear drive??
what do u guys think about a gear drive rather than the double roller timing chain??? ive heard the gear driver is more accurate but u really cant rev them high?? is that true?? im thinking about gettin one for my 87 ttop gt since the engine is out already. anything will help thanks
gear drives are great, but im not about to put one on my car. there is no stretch like any chain, no slop, very accurate, but very noisy, their loud
reason im leaving the double roller on my car, and not going to a gear drive, is price

Even the quiet gear drives are noisy. We recently used one and it is coming out this winter. Also Reher-Morrison found through a series of dyno comparisons that they lost over 15 hp using a gear drive on a BBC. I can't imagine it would be any different for a SBF. I say stay away from them.
