New Dyno Numbers

New Dyno Numbers
I went to a mustang dyno yesterday in Northern Kentucky. I was a little disappointed with the numbers for my setup. They were 277rwhp/295rwtq. I expected my hp to be up around 300. I dont have my dyno sheet with me so i cant post it up here but i will tonight. I was making max hp at 5600. That is what i didnt understand, i thought that i would be making power up to about 6500, my problem might be my tf stg. 1 cam. .499/.510. I know that i need to tighten down at least 1 rocker arm on the drivers side b/c i can hear the clatter. Any suggestions? question for anyone else with the trick flow top end, how far were you making power on your dyno?
My setup:
Trick flow TW heads ported and polished, 1.6 rr's
TF stage one cam
TF track heat upper and lower, polished
Shorty headers, o/r X, flowmaster 40s
70 mm tb, 80 mm maf, 24 lb injectors
FP set at 40 w/o vac
Dont know what else you would need to know but just post anything else

RE: New Dyno Numbers
If you went to a Dyno Jet, you would see 300rwhp. Mustang Dynos read lower
but are actually more of a "real" number
Good luck getting TFS top end kit to pull past 6,000. 5,500-6,000 is about right.
Long tubes might help open up that top end too. Shorties like to choke out at high rpms.

RE: New Dyno Numbers
Mustang Dyno puts load on the rollers from how I understand it. Dyno-jet you just spin a roller with no resistance on it. Thats the easiest way for me to describe it.
I Mustang Dyno'ed mine at 196 rwhp and 247 rwtq with bolt on mods like cai, headers, off road h and cat-back.
Dont be to discouraged by the numbers, just pick one method of dynoing and stick with it is my suggestion.

RE: New Dyno Numbers
Dyno Jet just spins a set free weight.
Mustang Dyno puts a reverse torque load on the drum and is
more of a real life simulation of what the engine goes thru trying to push your car.
277rwhp on a TFS top end kit with your mods is really dead on with what 90% of poeple make.
Again some LT's might help with top end numbers.
Dont sweat it. Those are decent numbers

RE: New Dyno Numbers
my dyno #'s are about the same. the mustang dyno numbers run low like you were told above. they also gave me dynojet numbers at the flywheel. i believethose figures was 378hp. if you read any of the manf. #'s are in the 350hp to 370hp range with no load at the flywheel. so your doing pretty good.
