Looking to get into 5.0s
Well I was looking into buying another car just incase the rx7 fails and you guys know how reliable rx7s are. I've pretty much been into cars since i was able to drive. I've owned a 240sx, Turbo single cam Civic, 2 rx7s one which i still own. I recently drove a friends 5.0. And I loved how the power felt. So much torque and it got loose so easily and being a kid from the drift scene i loved it.
So my main question is that is there any really like huge issues with the 5.0 mustangs themselves like weak points and what not. besides from the normal stuff for it being like 18+ year old car. And is there a guide to how to buy a 5.0?
Thx in advance.

where do you live? rust is a concern with the northern areas
the torque boxes are notorious to ripping apart under high stress(multiple drag launches)
and possible are main concern, stock blocks can only take ~400RWHP
BUT
keep in mind you can go into the mid 12s in the quarter without touching the engine

dont just say that the stock block can only take 400rwhp and leave it at that. it can take that much and not bat an eye but once you get to 450ish thats where you begin to get into the red zone. 450 is about a "safe limit" and i wouldn't push a stock block past 500 without starting to worry. but you'll always get those select few that push it way further and get away with it. one guy on here had his finally let go. i say finally cuz he was pushin, and correct me if im wrong for those of you that remember, about 750ish to the rear wheels

yea it was angcobra with his vortech 347. thing was nuts. he had light weight rotating assembly awesome block work main girdle pretty much everything you can do try and make a block not split.
the money he put into making the block last he could have probably bought an aftermarket block

I had a 2nd gen RX-7 before I got the 5.0, the 5.0 has got waaay more torque..., something wankels arent known for.
