Default Rear quarter panels

How much should it cost for the rear quarter panels and outer rockers to get replaced? I got quoted at just over $3000. Feel like I'm getting hosed...any suggestions?

It depends on how much the labor rates are in your area. I work at a body shop and here it is around $55 per hour. Quarter panels usually are about 10-15 hours a piece to install. Thats not including paint and materials. If you are replacing them because of rust, the price goes up because a little rust spot turns into a big one fast, such as when removing the outer panel, all of the mounting areas behind it are also rotted away. A lot of shops will purposely write a high estimate with rust work to scare them away.

that's the problem i'm having
except it's everywhere around the wheel well, especially closer to the bottom.

I think I'm going to attempt to repair it myself. I sourced out the quarter pannels and rocker pannels, came to about $500 for both sides. If I do it right I could save myself a couple thousand...

well on the outside you have to use sheet metal. but actually just thought about it id rather just use steel and paint it but while im at it id widen them up a little.

it's pretty easy to source out after market rear quarter pannels. that way you don't have to do the metal work shaping yourself
