Default Tire Question

What tires should I buy for the backs? Im looking at the Nitto 555 Extreme (non-DR), the Yokohama AVS ES100, and the BFG G-Force KDW's. Which do you guys feel are the best? I have a feeling itll be the Nittos, but I want to see what you guys think. The Yokos are cheapest, followed by Nitto and BFGs the most expensive.

Yeah I would but I need them on a DD with at least OK treadwear and good handling.

They are actually quite nice if you do not run a tall sidewall, they do suck at rejecting water though. You are much better off with going with Nitto or BFG as a DD good handling tire. The BF's last forever if they are rotated on schedule...It's a great product.

I had a set of sumitomos on my 99 and really liked those tires... wet traction was excellent. I have yoko's on my 89 and they are ok.. just tires.

If you are looking for a good street tire, the toyo proxies are a good choice!

I'd go with the BFG KDW(2 if u can) of those choices, ive never heard a bad thing about it. I'd never use the regular Nitto 555 again b/c the ones that came on my car damn near dryrotted right off the rim and they weren't that old. The 555R could be used for a daily driver though, i love mine and i'm upset they don't make them in the 18" size I want or i'd buy them again in a second.

I actualy own and opperat an independant tire buisness, and ive had my share of encounters with this question recently. most people like the name of the mickey thompsons and they do hook like a sum bitch, the sumitomos are decent but not realy in my opinion a true speed rated tire (hard compound), yokahoma makes some great tires that last forever, bfg makes a good tire that is pretty sticky but the price is too, toyo is top of the line, i realy push thier products. it realy depends on the situation- an everyday driver only, id probly go with the toyo proxies 4, for a street strip everyday driver probly go with the nitto 555r, for an aggressive street track car definately go with the mickey's. me personally, im going with the nitto 555r but its not an every day driver.
