I dont want to waste money, if im gonna put something into the car i want it to make a big difference. But to answer your question, I want it as a street car for the most part but wouldnt mind if it can run the 1/4 mile here and there

It depends on what you want the car to run but what I would do first is you said if you want to do something you want it to make a big difference...so here ya' go.....yank the motor and pull the 86 worthless pistons out and put some good pistons in that'll allow you to swap heads to something other then a twisted wedge head..meaning a head wih inline valves like rhs or canfield or afr and have decent valve reliefs in the pistons...buy a good cam and intake and a good speed density stand alone tuner or just convert it to mass air and then you'll have your big difference you were looking for

For a budget setup yank your motor and drop in a junkyard Explorer motor with the heads and intake still on it.
