when taking you engine out?
this winter i want to take my 302 out im going to replace it with a worked 306 what i was wondering was taking the engine out do i have to take the trans out also or no. could i just unbolt engine from trans and take engine out. i dont want to take the trans out at all. someone said i would have too? not shure thanks guys
You don't have too, but it really make's it easier especially when putting it back in. With out a load leveler it can be a bitch to line up. I go back and forth with how i do it.
no i said u can.... but i wouldnt... sorry if that wasnt clear
its just gonna be a pita to line it up putting it in the car... its easyer to line the whole thing up motor/trans. trust me... i just did it w. mine lol

I pull both, all the time....why you ask????? what's easier......pushing the engine into the tranny to line it up...or set the motor and then push the tranny up to it??? I vote for number two........I like to set the motor straight down on the mounts and then put the tranny in......no fighting it at all that way!!!!
besides with a moroso 7qt pan the ist way is almost impossible so I'm stuck doing it the second way
