347 stroker long block .............. $4,000-5,000

Stock trans might last for while with good clutch
Tremec TKO600's for about $2,000 will last forever.

I'm in the middle of building a 500 hp Capri right now and I'm going with the Trick Flow upper kit and a 150 shot with a Competition AOD that can handle 550 hp. You could also consider a stock 302 with a nice turbo set up and easily get over 400 hp... and a C4 tranny will take that kind of power no problem. Just a couple of ideas for you.

All motor you are gonna be looking at a larger cube, higher compression, or higher revving. probably not gonna happen with the stock 302 block

Yes, a C4 is a 3 speed auto. And if you want it to be all motor, a 351 with some AFR heads and a good cam will be the best way to go.

If you want to do something Naturally aspirated, you should really consider a 351 based stroker like a 408 with good heads and a cam. It would still be able to run on pupm gas without problems.. Many have built them and they are streetable and run in the 10's no matter what.. My 408 went 10.70's on motor alone... keep it EFI and with a good tune you will have a little better driveability.. as for a tranny it is really preference.. an Tremec will get the job done so long as you are not gonna spray it, but will allow you to run a better gear and still maintain better highway manners.. otherwise if performance is what your looking for.. a C4 with a "GOOD" converter with likely be more consistant and probably faster, however driveablility does suffer a bit..

Wiring should all be the same..
