Default paint cost?

I've been saving for a while and want to know how much it would cost to have my fox body painted. I don't want a cheap macco spray job that will come off in a year, something that will last. An estimate would be nice?

Thanks

I am going to pay $1500, but the car will go to the body shop all stripped , all the body work done in primer and possibly jammed. If I would pay full cost for the paint job I am getting it would be close to $4000. Materials will be around $500 for base, clear, primer and sealer.

I spent $2500.
They filled and sanded a couple of small dents in the doors, fixedwhere the top attach's to the sides of the of the hatch, painted the engine bay, 2 hoods ( yep I still have the stock hood) prep and paint1 fiberglass hood, prep and painted 1 urethane front bumper cover, door jambs and hatch and color sandedthe entire car and parts. All I had to doremove all the molding and emblems and then reattach they when I got the car back.

My friend's dad owns a shop, Im doing all of the prep work, bondo and block sanding the hood, and priming it then hes going to paint it when I buy the paint. Should be pretty cheap considering Im only buying a couple quarts of Triple Black, and not paying for any labor

You guys are nuts, are you driving show cars or daily/weekend cars.I would like to enjoy my car and try not to worry about the dents and scratches she'll get.My advice would be to get a Macco job every year for 15 years,it will be cheaper then some of these guys are paying.Just my opinion.

If I didn't care, I wouldn't paint it. I want a nice car.

Yisssir, Im the same way. Honestly, I have a problem that Im too **** when it comes to details, I hear it all the time from others and I have come to terms with it. Honestly I could just repaint my front bumper and call it a day, since the rest isnt too bad, and it has no dents. But since Im crazy, the roof fading bothers me, the few chips from rocks bug me, the one paint run on the bottom of the spoiler, the wavyness of the fiberglass hood, I dont sleep some nights. [:@]
