Default Speedo bounce

Whats the most likely cause for speedometer bounce? Guessing the speedo itself but don't want to tear out the dash without a little confirmation.

the cable needs to be greased up...they do it on like all foxes...i pulled my cable out of the sleeve and coated it with bearing grease, and it helped it out for a while, but the bounce came back

that's because the speedo head unit is bad...I have 2 sitting around that do that.. I finally gave up on finding a decent used 140 mph unit for my 1992...it bounces a little between the speeds of 50 and 65 mph[:@]

Add me to the list, mine is on crack... My sister calls my 5.0 a POS because the speedometer bounces and my AC smells like pancake syrup. [8D]
