Not worth $1100, just by looking at the pics. Maybe if it had the original parts, or even the original rims. Or matching rims And it looks like a big bundle of wires running through the drivers side of the engine bay. Might be worth $500..

but from the way it looks this guy wasnt exactly babying it. Look at the leaves on the spoiler.
Mines got more leaves on the spoiler and on the rest of the car and I try to take care of it.
Its just hard when I dont have a garage and the weather sucks.

I'm pretty sure thats not a pace car pace cars were silver, and that is also an '82 nose on it. '79 had a slightly different grille.

pace cars also had a black interior with Recaro racing seats...
Pace Cars had a grille very simaler to the 82
my bad, didnt know that, I though they had the same grilles as the regular 4.2s and non v8s... I know the air damn is only a pace car, cobra and GT thing....

but also, if it is a 4.2L, 255ci engine then its got the origional motor, the 5.0 came back in '82

and most Pace car replicas Ive seen were 2.3 Ts or 2.3Ts converted to 5.0....

1979 Pace Car Production
5.0L w/SROD 4-speed = 2,402
5.0L w/C-4 3-speed automatic = 2,106
2.3L Turbo w/T-04 4-speed = 5,970

Total = 10,478 yes they are rare and they are collectable

the 4.2L was not offered in 1979 that was only in the 1980 - 81 mustangs

AND BTW the car in the add is NOT a 79 Pace Car by the hood and color I would say it is the 1980 Cobra.
Are you sure? I mean that looks like a 79 pace car hood since its a reverse cowl with the louver thingers in the back. I know the 82 had the regular hood scoop on them.

Yes ACE that would be an 1980 Cobra I'll look for my old sales brochures. The 1979 and 1981 Cobras have the same scoop as the 82 GT and early Turbo model cars. The 80 Cobra got the same cowl hood as the Pace Car I am guessing they where left overs from the Pace Car project.

The 3 bar grill treatment was found on the 1979 Pace Car, 1980 - 81 Cobras and the 1982 GT. The 1979 Cobra had the same nose as the standard production Mustang.

Anywho like I said I will look for my old sales brochures and I know I seen some pictures in my collection of Mustang books I'll try and scan to post in here.

Well thats good to know! The more 4 eye info the better! But one question, where is the giant snake sticker that should be on the hood?!?! That would be a selling point for me haha

LOL some selling point , the hood graphics where optional. Actually if I would have bought one I would have wanted the graphics too. I'm having trouble finding my 79 - 82 brochures found my 83, 84, 86, 87 & 92 but the others are still MIA [] May have to try and scan some picts from my other books if I can get my large flatbed scanner up and running.

Ok here are 2 1979 Cobra picts and 2 1980 Cobra. Had to scan these from large books so yeah...

1979 Cobra

OK now this is a picture of a 79 Cobra I should have bought from my son-in-law, instead being a nice guy I let a friend (ex-friend now) buy it because he was wanting a 5.0 Mustang to replace the one he had to sell a year earlier. Needless to say I got jacked around by him later down the road and he basicly ruined the car. It was a 5.0, C-4 auto, TRX package, moon roof and rear wiper options. I did end up with the hood scoop off of it and the only 2 TRX wheels. So i was this close -> <- to owning a Cobra... lesson learned .. F**k the other guy if I have the $$ I'm buying it!

Note the 1979 Cobra didn't always have a rear spoiler, I actually have never seen one that did.

1980 Cobra

Ok 1979 Pace Car, Including and Interior shot for Shelty
