I'm pretty sure thats not a pace car pace cars were silver, and that is also an '82 nose on it. '79 had a slightly different grille.

pace cars also had a black interior with Recaro racing seats...

Iwould go and look at it before I made any defenite decisions.
the body could be in really good condition for a 79' and worth fixin the motor and replacing the trans, but from the way it looks this guy wasnt exactly babying it. Look at the leaves on the spoiler.

my bad, didnt know that, I though they had the same grilles as the regular 4.2s and non v8s... I know the air damn is only a pace car, cobra and GT thing....

but also, if it is a 4.2L, 255ci engine then its got the origional motor, the 5.0 came back in '82

and most Pace car replicas Ive seen were 2.3 Ts or 2.3Ts converted to 5.0....

1979 Pace Car Production
5.0L w/SROD 4-speed = 2,402
5.0L w/C-4 3-speed automatic = 2,106
2.3L Turbo w/T-04 4-speed = 5,970

Total = 10,478 yes they are rare and they are collectable

the 4.2L was not offered in 1979 that was only in the 1980 - 81 mustangs

AND BTW the car in the add is NOT a 79 Pace Car by the hood and color I would say it is the 1980 Cobra.

I learned something new....

I thought they were debored until '82.... my bad....

but still, wasnt the horsepower rating back them rather whimpy?
