K&N filters are fine, it's their CAI's that suck IMHO. As for needing one in a 1987 GT, BBK makes one for it that's pretty nice. Do a simple search on Google.

First I've ever heard of someone calling K&N filters crappy. I mean, the things are washable, reusable, and come with a 1,000,000 mile warranty. Hardly crappy in my book.

Maybe he ment he doesn't want an intake with a crappy filter, and wants one like a K&N filter?
