Default 347 reliabilty

How reliable would a 347 be?
My car is currently my dd and I do some highway driving.
Is it still reliable and would my mileage go under 12 per gallon?
I have the money to do it but I dont know if it would be wise to do.
Opinions are welcomed.

I would buy a kit and assemble it with my dad so no builder the only thing I wouldn't do is the machinw work and the tune.

they are just as reliable as the 302.
i even read somewhere a properly tuned 347 will last longer than a stock 302.
im building one tis winter as long as i can get my frame fixed for cheap enough.
so i cant help you out with the gas mileage.

For what you pay for a kit and all the machine work,
you can buy a preassembled 347 short block from Fordstrokers.com for same.

Not reliable at all don't buy one...you should swap out the 5.0 and go for the win with a 2.3 liter 4 banger ftw!!!!
I'll let you know in a month or two..as I'm putting in a 347 soon = already ordered
