Default Cut springs PICs on Page 3!!

I've decided to cut my springs, it was between cutting them, buying ebay springs, or heating them. Does anyone know how much to cut off to lower the car approximately 2 inches?

I'm a very cautious driver, so not much worried about potholes, bumps, etc, but I don't want to accidentally cut too much off.

Thanks in advance

if your going to be cutting the springs DO not cut more than 1.5 coils as it affects the ride too much......

heating the spring is worse than cutting the springs from my experiences

Why wasn't one of your choices to buy a set of high quality springs and do it right the first time? You're going to cut your springs and they are going to sag and then you're going to have to do it again, it's worth just doing right the first time.

$5.85 per hour on a part time job doesn't buy high quality springs, insurance, gas, and keep the girlfriend happy.

Before you take your springs out, get under it and measure and mark the spring while it is compressed. I cut mine and I have no complants and it was free.

I too paid for my mustang and 69 datsun roadster with my own cash. I'm not complaining or anything, just stating why I can't do it right now. On top of that, if I were going to buy suspension components I'd save for a tubular kmember with coilovers and adj rear control arms. Right now I'm actually looking for a car to clean up and sale to make a profit, allowing me to finish the H/C/I.
