Hi,

What's the name of the housing that the speedometer cable is plugged into on the tranny. I think mine is cracked.

tailshaft housing ..bolts on to the tranny case ...are you sure it's not the o-ring on the speedo drive gear assembley?? do you see a crack in the case???

Whoa, whoa...too many fancy words there.

It's a little thing, about 2 inches in length. The speedo cable plugs right into it. I can pull it right out of the tranny. Itmay be thespeedo drive gear assembley.

it's the drive gear assembley then I wasn't sure if you were talking about the case or not but now with your clarification I see what it is

yeah dude. I got that same cable. I went to plug it up, but it doesn't sit properly in the connector. 1991 Fox GT, stock tranny with cruise.

if you have cruise then the cables for cruise should be used in conjunction with the speed sensor with the plug in I listed above as the ecm needs to see a speed signal from the tranny as to know not to allow cruise engagement below 35 mph and to see a signal to maintain a certain set speed that the operator inputs by the press of the buttons on the steering wheel pad
