I drive the stang all summer .Then i bust out the 1989 plymouth relient K-car.
0-60 in 12 minutes, right?
I learned to drive on my dad's '87 Reliant and that car was completely gutless and slow.

RKSport and Magnaflow both make nice stuff so the exhaust is probably pretty nice, I think it looks pretty damn good on there actually.

How many miles on that 2.4? I've heard horror stories... they ain't no ecotec
my dad had a sunfire vert, I think it was a 97, 98 or 99, I dont remember the year exactly, it was a 2.4 though, the motor grenaded after about 115 thousand miles... he bought it with 75K on it about 4 years ago, lasted him two, he wasnt too happy.... snatched the CD player out of it for his '96 grand am GT....

last time we saw the car it was at the local pick a part we knew it was his cuz there was a dent in the door from when my mom accidntly backed into it after my dad blew the motor... it was all there, sans, motor, trans, wheels, axles, half the interior, hood, front clip, steering wheel

those motors arent cheap either....

Thats because theres very few good ones.
My friend had a Grand Am with a 2.4 and it had a cracked head so he sold it to a guy he knows that was going to fix it. When we took the car there that guy had 4 cars with Quad 4's with bad motors.
My friend sold him a Quad 4 out of a wrecked parts car and got a decent amount of money for it.

thats what our mechanic said, I dont know what happened to my dads, he was driving home, and then the motor began to run really rough, then if I remember correctly, my dad said he heard something like m80s going off then metal clanging on the ground...the car died and rolled to a stop, with a plume of smoke coming out of the exhaust.... we never knew the extent of the damage, as the car was towed to our house and then junked 2 months later...

The motor in my car has 97k on it. It has already had the timing chain, guides, tensioner, lifters (cam followers actually) and the cams replaced.

I did the "secret cam" swap to it... actually added a decent amount of pep to it. I am however looking into a rebuilt LD9 that a friend of mine had for his cavi... its got 8k on it right now.

secret cam swap sounds pimp, i'd throw that new motor in there though. My friend's 2.4 got sick gas mileage tho, we made it from upstate NY to Myrtle Beach in like a tank and a half of gas, was awesome.
