Default Guys who launch hard...you get this?(picture)

Ever since I started running my MT's this last year my car has started to develope kind of a wrinkle on both sides, just behind the 1/4 window. You guys get this? I have subframe connectors also BTW. I am going to paint my car this winter and I want to fix this, but I don't plan on being a chick about how I drive it afterwards. Is this something that I am going to have to live with or what?

I don't think so...it would be hard to get the kids in the back seat.....

I think I am going to put some thru the floor subframes in this winter along with my weld on subframes I already have, hope that will help.

Problem with that plan is it's not your floor thats flexing any more
its your roof, only way you're going to stiffen that up is with a cage.

One of the draw backs of the hatchback body

That makes good sense.

Have you seen this on other cars? So I am not alone?

I've seen it on one other hatch.

It just make sense though. That wrinkle is coming from
all the stresses beging transfered down from the roof thru
that qrt window pillar due to the hatch not adding any strength.

only way you can stop those forces is to reinforce that load line
coming down from the roof to rear qrt with a cage.

If you really think about how the hatch body is made too, its an
obvious weak spot in the body.

You know, I can tell why it is tweeking there, it is a weak spot. I just don't see how a cage is going to help. The cage still just hooks to the floor...pretty much like super subframes, right. With that thought in mind, it seems like a vert would folt right up not having a roof at all. The floor being the biggest point of support, I think I will still put the thru the floor subframes in, that has to help. If the floor is stiffer it can't hurt.
