Ok, so i just bought a 93 gt and i was told that fox body mustangs have a hidden 1st gear. Now ive heard this before from other people but i never really paid any attention. i havent picked up the car yet so i cant check it outmyselfso if someone can explain how it works or if its even true i would really appreciate it.

Damn well the guy i bought it from told me that you have to shift down, the shift back up into drive then back down into 1st.

Its the 1-d-1 shuffle. Its not a hidden 1st gear it just holds out second a little bit longer but in the end is not good for the AOD and If this guy told you this then that car has been BEAT!

yeah i know the car has been drivin hard and i know how its been drivin. i bought it off a friend of mine we used to take it to us41 dragway in moroco, in. it runs strong and thats the only reason i bought it. it has 80,000 miles on it so im hopin it has some life left in it cause i have good plans for it in the very near future. he told me it shifts very early in drive, and the tranny just got rebuilt so i shouldnt have any worries for awhile atleast.
