I was looking at buying an 84 GT convertible from a guy up the block, and was wondering how many 84 GT verts were built. the guy only wants $2000 and the cars in good shape its got a cowl hood, some wheels, and some exhaust. It's red/red with a white top, looks pretty sweet. The car does need a new top cuz someone cut it to break in and steal the stereo (dumbasses) I checked around and found a new top for around 400 bucks. I've also got an 84 hatch that ive put a crap load of work into, but it needs a paint job and a tranny, so i was thinking about canabalizing my hatch for some of the parts and put them on the vert.
Just wondering if one of you know a good website to find stats on these cars.

GT's. That what we are talking about right? Since the threads title is "how many 84 GT vert's out there?" Because they made 23438 convertibles in '83 but only 1001 GT's. 993 went to the U.S. and 8 went to Canada. I own one so I know my stuff. So ya my car is much more rare. They made more 20th ann. convertible in '84 then they made GT convertible in '83.

a bit off topic but not far off enough to start a new thread, what is the rarest mustang (year, body, trim) of actualy production numbers,i mean from the factory no saleens cobras or any other special stang just the ford productions?
