My old Expedition did that...I flushed the tranny and filled it with new fluid and it fixed it.

well by the sound of it ur better off than i was...mine was rediculus...put it in first ..hammer on it n it just bounced the whole car cuz it slipped so bad..second was the same way just not quite as bad..it was bad enuf tho that a couple times when id be turning onto the highway from a stop sign..id get half way in the turn n it would just slip so id slow down a lot ...which is def not good when thers a car or truck coming..main reason i swapped mine..didnt feel like gettin tboned lol...cuz thats never good

My 93 f-250 do's like a rumbling when it downshifts. No slipping at all. Over a year ago i changed out filter and replaced whatever fluid i lost and it drove perfect untill about a month ago and it's starting to do the same thing. Next, i'm going to take it and get the tranny flushed completely and replace all the fluid and seewhat that do's. When dropping the pan your not losing half the fluid, so i'm hoping with flush and getting rid of all the bad fluid it will make a difference long term instead of only a year. If not right now it's still cheaper to do that once a year than buying a rebuilt one.
