Default what controls this

ok so yesterday i started my car up and then my low coolant light came on.. so i checked the coolant and both were full (radiator and overflow a little above the cold level) once my car got warm the light went off. what sensor does this run off?

I had the "low coolant" light on just like you.I have 1994 im not sure if yours is in the same place as mine.The sensor for mine is on the bottom of the overflow tank.when I did my H/C/I swap I cleaned out about 10 years worth of slime out of the bottom of the overflow tank and now I dont get that "low coolant" alarm anymore.....hope that helps yah!!!!

Add a lil more coolant to the overflow. As the engine wrrms up, the cooling system expands, (hence the purpose of the overflow. ) As it expands, it needs somewhere to go. So it go into the overflow just enough to turn off the light.

with the engine on the coolant (still cold) was like half way up the overflow and radiator was full too
