smog
ok so my buddy that does inspections at the mobil station told me that mass is doing away w/
all emissions because it is too expensive. or something.
i was wondering since my crossover tube is clogged n e ways. should i just take all the smog stuff off? and how complicated is this to do?
also what exactly does all the smog stuff do? i kno its to reduce emissions. but does it have anything to do w/ mpg? if it is removed will it hurt mpg any or make it better? i kno it shouldnt be much either way im just currious.
thanx everyone

RE: smog
You can delete your air pump with a delete kit or just run a shorter belt. On the back of your heads you will have a pipe that runs from one end to the other. That needs to be taken off. Most guys say you can plug the hole with a 5/8-11 Course thread bolt. The other pipe that is there runs from your air pump down to your cross pipe, get under there and rip that off and either pinch the pipe shut or plug it off. You will have to plug any vaccum lines you take off. It only take 2 bolts to take off yourair pump.

Ya its a fairly easy job. and i believe the size is going to be 84.5 ' if youre going to delete just your smog pump. If for some reason that duznt work, you can take your old belt cut it and run the route the belt will be runningand mark it than take it to the parts store, if your unsure just buy a few belts.
