to spool or not to spool

RE: to spool or not to spool
I'm going through the same dilema, my traction lock clutches are burnt up after one season and need something stronger but I drive the car a lot in spring and summer. The part that really bothers me is getting stuck in the rain. A spool and rain don't mix, its pretty much impossible to keep traction while turning on wet ground. I'm looking at the eaton style differentials as an alternative.

Just get a new track loc, like 240.00. (31 spline) That's what I bought. Works great!

you can catch these on ebay for under 200 bucks alot i think i paid like 175 for mine( it looks strong)to bad they only make them in 31 spline the guy i bought mine form advertised it as a 28 spline but its 31 just need some dough for some axles anyone got any 31 spline axles cheap for an sn95?
those posi units with springs like that yukon are suppose to be better for traction than the one with just clutches but there not any stronger so ive heard.those springs put pressure on the clutches to help the car stay in posi.

RE: to spool or not to spool
I have the Powertrax in mine, works reasonably well in a DD, but with a stick when you let off the clutch while in a tight radius turn it can get kinda pissy. Just have to be careful how I work the clutch in a turn, but iut has no parts to wear out and it works. With the right tires it does good in the snow too.
