manual rack...

so i got my k member sitting here and i was thinking of getting a new rack and pinion...i was wondering if any one has any experience with driving a manual rack on the street....is it a PITA or not so bad???

It's not bad at all with skinnies up front. I have a Flaming River manual rack.

cant tell you what its like on a fox, but if its a quicker ratio i cant see it being bad at all. i kno on other cars with reg tires on the front its not bad at all. stock ratio manual rack, such as the 60's stuff its all pretty easy stuff with that

If you have tons of mods and this is one of the last things you can think of to up et then go for it but if it'll be a daily driver then I really wouldn't for go the comfort of Power steering....but that's me I'm lazy!!!

I run 245's on the front and it's not bad.

Kind of a pain in parking lots, but hardly
noticeable at all while driving.

You do need to keep a good grip on the wheel though.
Its directly connected to tires now and it will move
if you hit a pot-hole and dont have a good grip.

Proper tire inflation makes a HUGE difference too.
