Motives no less. Ford no longer makes their own gears and hasn't for a couple of years now for those of you that didn't know that. (there are still sets of 3.55, 3.73, and 4.10's out there to be had but not the 4.30's[:@]) I was unable to locate an original set (called multiple places) soI was stuck w/ buying the Motives. I contacted several ppl on those as well and was told they have all had good luck w/ the whine factor. There is a lil different install procedure than the Ford Racing so maybe that's the difference. We'll see.

you will love the 4.30's! they are a little high for driving on the street, but not as bad as every one (who doesnt have them) makes them out to be, right now im still using my car for a dd and even though gas millage dooes suffer a little,, i dont really give a crap cause it was the best up grade i have ever done

I believe the ford racing ones were so desirable cause they allowed you to use all the stock shims to set pinion depth and back lash that's why people wanted them..made installation a breeze..I got a 95 gt in my shop with 3.73 ford racing gears right now and it used all the stock spacers....I may be wrong on all that above but I think I remember reading it...anyway all the print outs I have say set back lash to the tighter side of the spec....007 to .008..cause when they wear in it'll fall to the middle or outer which is right where you want it and not to exceed .011 when all is said and done!!! good luck with the 4.30's!!! I think I will be doing up a 8.8 I have sitting soon with 4.10's

Nice Bernie, you're stepping up in tire size too aren't you to take a lil of the edge off? To me low gears are like this, I love driving a car with them but don't want them in my car all the time, they are awesome tho
