Hi I am a new member.......my question is a intake swap I have a 5.0 upper and lower from a 1998 ford explorer I would like to swap it for my stock upper and lower from my mustang....heard it was a good swap?? any real gains here?.........thanks

 

with the stock heads you wont gain as much, but there will still be a gain yes. The explorer/gt40/cobra upper and lower swaps are very common for the 5.0s. They really shine when you do the heads and cam though.

 

without a head swap its hardly worth the trouble, get the heads done too while you're at it....and while its torn apart might as well cough up the extra money and get a cam....if you're gonna do it, do it once, do it right
