I'm 23...mustangs go through consumables too fast ive tried that route. Heavy cars require bigger barkes/tires etc. I know these are mustang forums which is why this thread is titled "5.0 questions, need expert advice"...

Well the redline on a stock 5.0 is 6200 so 6500 is do-able with good rod bolts. 87-92 had forged pistons. 93-up had hyper pistons.
The 5.0 will sound much better than the bmw engine for sure. 400hp is achieveable with the stock shortblock using a healthy camshaft with cnc ported Twisted wedge heads and a good intake and exhaust system.
The TFS H/C/I kit says 360hp on a 306 using the track heat intake. Using the CNC ported heads will put you closer to the 400hp mark.
