Three Point Racing Belts
When i bought my car the previous owner threw in a set of brand new3 point racing belts...i get how they mount but the lower strap i gotta question on (being that it doesnt have a previous bolt do i need to drill a new one?) and where the top half wrapps around the seat how does it mount?

RE: Three Point Racing Belts
like 99% of production cars come with 3 point belts. do you mean 4 point belts or do they actually come over the shoulder, come together, then go to a single belt straight down to the crotch? and yes i said crotch

you will have to drill a hole in the floorboard in fornt of the seat and all the ones I have installed wrap around or bolt to the rollbar those things have dates stamped on them if they are out of date you cant run even if your car doesnt run 11.50.most people dont use them unless they plan on breaking that 11.50 mark so they would need a cage to.

oh i know about the date stamp, a friend at school mentioned it and we checked them, they are legal. so for the upper part you say it mounts to the cage? can they still be used then if there isnt a cage

RE: Three Point Racing Belts
ideally you want them to mount right behind your shoulders. if they are mounted right behind you they will keep your back straight. if they are mounted to the floor behind you they will make your back arch and pinch. i guess that doesn't really make sense, but its kinda hard to explain it[:@] hopefully somebody can actually explain less stupider as for the "anti submarine belt" (the one that goes down towards the floor) you can just mount a bar that goes from the front bolts for the seat so you dont have to drill any hole for it. hope this helps.
