Default RE: GT-40 heads

ORIGINAL: 92cobra

I am getting ready to pick up a trickflow stage 1 cam, gt40 iron heads with comp springs good to .600 lift, 1.7 cobra crane roller rockers, valve covers, and a cobra upper and lower intake. Hopefully this will wake my little aod 91gt up a little bit. Wish me luck.

I personally think the gt40s are a great buy bro. I wish you the best of luck also. I am shooting for 270rwhp. I currently only have under drive pullies and an electric fan, i guess i also have magnaflow magnapacks but whatever lol. Soon I will be adding headers and an hpipe but thats later on down the road.

Op, theres no reason you shouldnt be able to hit close to the 300rwhp mark with port work , possibly even over that amount.

My quick question is this to anyone who is reading this. The 93cobra has obviously a cobra intake and cobra heads but yet is rated at slightly above the 91gt hp rating. How is this possible?
i think they changed theyre method of rating hp sometime around then, just like they did again in japan. who cares what they "say" hp is, throw it on a dyno. its all about rwhp. i dont give a damn what its making at the crank if it doesnt make it to the wheels efficiently. i also heard they underrated the cobra to help lower insurance costs.

thanks alot! I love the idea of the steeda #19 cam for my car...but it only has a 115or 116 LSA. Does anyone know of a 94-95 friendly cam that is lopier and more muscle car sounding, like a 113-114LSA?
The Steeda #19 lopes pretty good especially for a computer compatible cam. the LSA is not the only thing that has to do with how a cam idles... for being plug and play with these cars it has pretty respectable duration imo.

Well that may be about the true cobra heads i never heard of that before, every book i have or read has the head listing as 60-64 for 40s with the f1 or f3 casting.

What are you talking about?Onyxcobra: I still don't know yet which cam I am gonna use, I know the steeda is great for our cars with our picky computers. i still have a couple months to think about it so I will continue to do more reading. I was just impressed with the numebrs Jasper's friend put up with the trick flow, until reading those numbers I never considered anything besides the steeda cam

ya i heard the beauty of the steeda cam is that you can throw itin and run the car fine with out a tune with almost no issues since it is so computer friendly. if i can budget a tune into my build(the car will have a 100 shot on it too) i might go trickflow...still a lot of choices to make

When doing a H/C/I you should ALWAYSinclude a dyno tune or a stand alone system into your budget.
