Default Sites for blocks..

So i'm thinking IF I get a 94 95 GT or Cobra, their blocks are pretty weak, so i want an aftermarket block. What's the cheapest block that would be better than the stock block? Or just what are some sites I can go to?

I've searched on google, but can't find really a good site. Thanks.

you could always go 351. it'll give you like another 200ish hp of "hp holding potential" and will make power easier. what are your power goals?

To safely and run for a long time, at about 400-450 hp. I'm 18 and have the people who can help me make that happen. But I don't want to use the stock block for that hp, it's a ticking time bomb.

There is only a few companys thatmake blocks, Dart, Ford Racing , World products and I think RDI so it should not be that hard to find.

i believe almost everyone on here have stock block's ...if you are looking into a aftermarket block your looking at like $1,800+, plus all the machine work....find a 302mexican block if you are looking for something a bit stronger.....they will hold around 650hp

400-450 is very very reasonable for the 5.0 block so i wouldnt even bother getting a new one just send the block to a machine shop and get it bored over and have them do a main bore alignment and cam bore alignment and you will be set for 450hp i have some friends that are running 6+ on their blocks with no problems at all

I run a R- block in my wifes car and Have a Dart Iron Eagle I got used from a guy for mine. there is more to a after market block then just buying one and using it. it may need aline boredit may need deck most do it will need a final bore or more done on it. the R- block in the wifes was 1200 more on top of the cost of the block to have it done but that also inc. the balance job. But we need them. youcan get buy with a welldone stocker at that HP for some time.
