Default RE: What are your REALISTIC goals for your 5.0?

I don't really want to go crazy with my car, but I'd like to do some things to give it a little more pep. I want to maybe get somewhere close to 300 rwhp eventuallybut keep the car as stock-looking as possible. I also want to be able to put it back to stock if I ever desire. I'm into autocrossing so suspension mods I do will be geared more towards handling than the drag strip. Most of this stuff is a ways off since I'm in college and more or less unemployed at the moment (soon to change).

What I have (long list [8D]):
- MGW Shifter
- K&N Drop in filter + air silencer removed
- 180* thermostat (not installed yet)

Plans (in no particularorder):
- Catback (maybe, the stockmufflersare basically the same as 2-chamber flows but2 1/4" piping)
- h-pipe w/ high flow cats (to stay street legal)
- maybe longtubeheaders (not much diff b/t shorties and stock manifolds from what I've seen)
- cam(looking at Steeda #19, but nothing final)
- possibly porting my GT-40s
- cooling system upgrades if needed
- subframes/other chassis stiffening
- suspension work (springs/shocks, nothing picked out yet)
- wider/better tires on my stock wheels, possibly a set of drag radials (canI fit 275/40s on a 17x8" rim?)
- dyno tune + any supporting mods I may need for any of the above

I've been wanting to do the timing advance that's so popular but I've been too busy/lazy [8D]

World 460 cu. in. sbf motor.
Gliddon Victor Jr Heads (400cfm)
Giant turbo w/ lots of boost
300 shot on top of that

Put that in a good chassis and high 7's shouldn't be hard. Very realistic

400rwhp, I am almost there (currently at 374rwhp) so i think as soon as I am done with my military school in Great Lakes, Illinois I will go back to South California and add some new stuff to my stang:

new aluminum shaft, msd ignition kit, maybe upgrade the 65mm T/B to a bigger one and swap the pulley on my s/cer to a 9lb pulley that should put me at the 400 mark, I hope.
New paint job and save up for new interior......this moddingthing never ends.....damn~[:@]~

I already reached my goal..well sort of......on my 11 to 1 306 I ran 12.20's on a soft launch @112 and on a 100 shot 11.34 @120....which was my goal when I first started to build the car 8 years ago....finally reached my goal and then the mains went out!!! so back to square one!!! I'm putting in a 347 here when it arrives and goal is a 11.80 to 11.90 all motor and we'll see what a 100 shot does on top of that..if it hits a 10.90.. that's all I want but I may back it down to a 75 shot cause all I really care for is a low 11 on NOS...CAUSE i GOT NO CAGE AND DON'T WANT ONE SO i'LL ONLY GET ONE PASS BELOW 11.50 BEFORE i GET THE OLE SLOW IT DOWN!!!![:'(]

As far as performance I am where I want to be. The only plans I have is leather, paint, and restore everything that needs it.

Right now is AFR 165's, Crane roller cam and most of the other crap. Carb'd. Now that I got the tune right, I'll be sorting suspension in the next month or 2, then it should go high 12's on street rubber. Once it's geared I'd like to have a consistant mid 12 car. All n/a, but will prolly get like a 100-150 shot later on and run somewhere in the 11's. Eventually I'd like to build off a Dart etc block and do a big bore 351 with a custom long rod setup. So 375cid with a long rod, something that can go 11's n/a with street tires and be a DD, then spray nitrous for those 10's, like a nice 200 shot. I'll prolly build the 375 with all ultra light internals etc, so it'll be lean and mean like a race engine but with not quite the h/c/i setup of a race car. And drive it every day.

My mustang was my first car (2.3). It is my baby and i'd never sell it. i'm shooting for an agressive looking street car with some *****. Not really planning to send it down the track to win cash, just fun. I'll cruise in it during the summertime and to the events that i usally hit like mid-america shelby meet In Tulsa OK, NMRA vs NMCA in Joliet, IL and WSC St. Louis, MO (used to be WFC). I already have most everything that I'm going to put into it. the list includes:
GT40p's, GT40E's, e303, 1.6 Roller rockers, UDpullies, CAI, 24LB injectors, 76 mm mass air, 76 mm TB, Stock block, stock forged pistons Cosmetics: Gt body pieces with Cobra extensions and Grille insert for front bumper, Cobra r hood, one piece headlights, bullitt wheels and Gloss Black paint. Also conversions like 130 amp alternator, 5 lug, ect and replacing anything that needs replacing or rebuilding: AOD, t-loc ect.
