well have your shop bump your timing to 14 degrees and run at least 91 octane. that should get you at least 5 hp to the wheels for next to nothing. then i would scroungearound your scrapyard and find a 5.0 explorer intake manifold. you can find them anywhere for cheap and get a good gain, i think people were getting 10-15 rwhp from them on an otherwise stock engine, plus they will support up to 350 hp! start with that.

I was thinking about gears...with teh explorer intake manifold is there anything i need to do to the engine or manifold to make it fit right or anything i need to also get for the engine to make it run right? also how much does it usually cost to get installed?...and also i know im going to sound like an idiot but what exactly is 91 octane? and where would i go to get my timing changed? right nwo the places ive gone to get what i have on there now are meineke and ford

The first thing I would is find a good speed shop, so you don't have to go to Meineke or Ford.
