Default Newbie Question

Picked up a 93 GT. The synchro in third gear is shot so I am looking to replace it. I see that some sites list t5s as going up to 92 and some say upto 93. What is the difference? I plan on taking it someplace to have it thrown in as it is TOO COLD for me to do it. Can I use one from any 5.0 or whats the deal? Thanks guys.

Ha, the garage is too cold. Or else I would do it myself. As for rebuilding it, the thought crossed my mind but I haven't done a trans before. Didn't want to screw it up. So I thought I would switch it out and throw a used one in while I mess around rebuilding the one that was in it. That way I wasn't in such a rush to get it done and missed something.

86-93 are the same. 83-85 used a 2.95 first gear, 86-93 used a 3.35 1st gear.

i hear ya man i have been out in the snow and ice in the old drive way swapin a trans or changein out a rear diff ,.he could get a portable heater and put it in the garage it will take the chill off enough for most people to tollerate it , as for your used trans you are going to put in for the mean time check it out good you might endup with the same thing you have now .
