New DR Questions
OK, I have two main qusetions
1) My LX is mostly stock, T5, with 4.10s, suspension work, and other bolt ons. With a 26" tall tire, will it be geared too low? Would a 28" be too tall?
2) Im looking at either the BFG Gforce DRs (only sizes: 26" or 28"), MT ETs (the tube type) or Hoosier Quick Time DOTs (also a tube type). I would rather not run a tube tho, has anyone done this? I know the tires wont hold air as long but will I run into any other problems? I wanted the ET Street Radials but theyre on backorder until April.
I know this isnt the most exciting thread but can someone plz help me out? The tires are going on a 15x8 Draglite also. Thanks

I was running 27" tires with 3.73 and it was a little too much tire, but I still went fast. I think if you are worried get a 27"...with 4.10's those would work good. 255/60/15 MT's
Thanks Stanger, I was going to get the exact tires you used to have (255/60...if Im not mistaking) but theyre on backorder until who knows when. I wanted to use the MT ET Street radial but I think I might try the tube type and then give the radials a shot when they are back in stock.
I have used M/T ET Streets with out tubes and they held air but every pair of Hoosiers I have had or seen have leaked air with no tubes. 26x10.5 ET Streets with a 4.10 gear is a nice set up.
On a stock engine that only pulls to about 5000rpm, you would be better with the taller tires. 3.35 x 4.10 = 13.74 first gear ratio. It will barely get you to the 60ft mark.
