Default Push Button Start

Yes i Did search. Every post is either old or for the 05 and up. I have been having a problem with my ignition being able to be turned WITHOUT a key depending on how I put the key in and pull it out. i would like to make it so you need to additionally use a start button that i could hide, so the only way to start is with the button. So you cannot turn the key all the way and start. Just turn to on then press the button.

Can anyone offer some advice??

Its not hard, you can buy one from the auto store and it has to clamps that go on each side of starter solinoed.

Personally i like having a key start my car. I do have push button under hood just because it makes it easier if i'm working on it, adjusting valve lash, checking for spark and anything else i need it for. I use it quite often.

I have some cheapo push button starter from pepboys that I have yet to setup, directions are missing a ton of words so I gotta figure out what gets hooked up to what to figure out how the switch works. Plan is to put the key in the center console in the cig lighter hole, push button wherever I feel like puttin it.
