Default Paxton or Vortech

Hey guys im currently saving up for some boost. No i will NOT consider turbos, or nitrous at this point so dont even sujest it! I have about 2k saved right now, so i figure by summer (or before) ill have all the funds needed to buy the kit+other stuff i need to put the system on. Im looking at the Vortech V-2 or the Paxton Novi 2000? This is currently goign on a stock engine, but will be built later down the road once i save som mroe money (347/331) so ill be running lower boost around 8-12. But i want room to grow at the same time, the car is only a summer driver for fun NOT A DD, it will see use in the true street race at local tracks so i want it to be fast?
Recomendations on systems would be great
thanks

doubt V-2 will feed a stoker enough CFM's

Novi 2000, might.

Its not just boost, but CFM's need on a stroker.
Boost is just a reference of excess CFM's

god i love having knowledgable people like you r.barn to lead lesser folcks such as our selves. What would be a good recomendatoin for something like a 331?, it will be getting a set of AFR 205's, i think im going through cam master Jay for a custom grind (when that day comes) and and edelbrock Victor intake....I thought the Novi would sufficiantly feed something like this since it has the range of going up to 27psi....and the CFM is 1400 (i dont know what this # exactly means, but i just loooked it up on there page, and hopefully you can teach me)

cid = engine displacement
rpm = rpm
Ve = Volumetric Effc.
P.R = press. ratio ( 14.7 + boost psi ) / 14.7
[hr]

( cid X rpm x 0.5 x Ve ) / 1728 = CFM N/A

CFM N/A x P.R. = Boosted CFM

[hr]
( 331 X 6,000 X 0.5 X .85 ) / 1728 = 500 cfm (apx)

500 X 1.68pr = 840 cfm at 10psi

[hr]
I think the V-2 is good for 1000cfm so it would be getting very inefficient very fast on a 331
Novi-2000 should be a good choice for a stroker at 1,400cfm rating.

A blower maybe "rated" at a certain cfm, but when you start pushing it too its limits
it can start falling on its face and leave you wondering why its not making the power it should.

Boost is just a reference of how much more CFM the blower is pushing in
past what the engine would try to suck in N/A.
If blower wont put out enough CFM the boost will fall short for the pulley size thats on there.

The design of their kits aren't the best either...

The Novi 2000 would suite you well. The S-trim would fall a little short. If your wanting to go vortech, look into something along the lines of a T-trim. It flows similar to the Novi 2000.

You're going to build this motor in a stronger aftermarket block right? If not, it really won't matter which blower you go with. All of them would quickly max out the stock block's capabilities.
