Lower Intake Leaking at Bolt
Hello again. I have an '88 GT 5.0.
In an attempt to adjust the idle, we found a leak in the upper intake around one of the center mounting bolts. (It acts like a vaccum leak.) After placing a washer on the bolt and sealing it up, we still seem to have the leak. This is a stock intake, and just so you'll know it is a speed density set-up.
Next step is to remove the intake and get it checked for cracks. We're pretty sure the problem is at the bolt. Of course, once all that's done, we'll probably just pick a new intake if it indeed is the problem.
If there's another way to fix this without removing everything, I'd like to know.
Does this sound like a cracked intake? Is this a common problem?
