The only difference from the 87 and 88 from the 89-92 versions are that they have a air flow density sensor rather than a MAF right?

And you can easily convert to MAF?

yeah the one is sd and the other maf , you can convert it pretty easy , you need a a9l ecu,wireing harness from mass air car and mass air meter , switch out the brain and rerun the wireing and install the maff not a bad job .

Speed density is one of the main diffs....89 and up were mass air unless it was a cali model 88 was mass air then

yea..it's running!! didn't you see the thread of the video???.........I still have some fine tuning to do and get it out on the road for some test driving but it runs

Alright, I thought the conversion kit was like 40 bucks though... Is it cheap? A whole new ECU makes me thing it's not. Also I was hoping to convert directly to a 70MM MAF.

There's no difference in the engine/trans at all though?

A mass air flow sensor will help the engine compenstatebetter forany after market mods you do.
