Default Help finding part

91 Hatch GT

You know them shocks that keep the hatch up? Well I got me a new pair, but I found I have another problem, the part that attaches to the body and the shocks screw into is all worn and the shocks keeps popping out. What is that "mounting" piece call and can I get a new pair?

Junkyard would prob be your best bet for that. Call 50resto, yearone, cjponyparts, etc. and see if they have it but I dont think they will.

If you think there is a company that might have the part, then call them.... its alot easier to describe it and get what you are looking for.

And if not, I would do like I suggested first and just hit the junkyard or ask someone who's parting out their car and get them off of them.

Sometimes you can give the guy behind the Parts counter at Ford and Engineering # and they can cross reference itto an actually parts #.

This is from the Ford Shop Manualso Ibelieve this is what your looking if your talking about the ball thing at the top of the hatch that hold the Gas Shock in place...Retainer 45588

But if your talking about the bottom bracket that is held into place with 2 screws and hold the other end of the Gas Shock you'll need the Bracket Assembly 427A48
