Default RE: timing question!

ok, so i dont and i mean DONT have enough extra money for a fluid dampner so im probably gonna go with the ford racing stock replacement. so anyways when i go to time this beast i pull the little timing plug with the engine off, start the engine then set the base timing. Do i need to shut the engine off before i put the plug back in, or do i put the plug in place with the engine still running?

thanks...[sm=smiley23.gif]

I am not sure on that question but just shut it off to be on the safe side. I don't run EFI at the moment so I don't know all the little things about it. When you do replace it, restab the dizzy about to be sure that you got it right.
