Default PSI

what is stock psi per cylinder on a 5.0
i ran a compression test pulled 150 psi per syl. is this normal or what should it be for a car at 200k let me know

well if you have the motor out and apart..it wouldn't hurt to do so...if there is a ridge on the top of the cylinder wall cut it with a ridge reamer and hone it and install new rings....that's if it's out and apart

Do a leak down test to see "how sealed up your engine is"

Compression test is to see if cylinder builds pressure while moving
Leak down test puts pressure on the cylinder and makes sure everything is sealed ( ie rings and valve seats. )

yes i pulled the heart out pulled the heads the ridge was like a grease i simply wiped it away still had good cross hatchings left in it
had like a metallic look to the oil wasnt sure what that was figured it was normal wear

heck since it's apart...hone it and put some new rings in....won't hurt it= cheap insurance too!!

with like a dingle ball hone i also have a set of arp main studs and wave loc pro rod bolts
to install should i let the rods and pistons set over nite in kerosene or chuck em in the parts washer and scrub em up
my car takes a metric file fit ring correct
