I'm gettin ready to paint my 89 hatch gt in about 2 months once i get the rest of my body pieces in.

Its currently the 2h color code, maroon and titanium. I was thinking about going all black, but that would leave my engine bay with the maroon still. then i thought just repainting it stock color but...its not very appealing.

what do you guys think?

i think a black fox body is awesome. i want mine black too but i think it would be a pain to get black over the white in the engine bay and the door frames and such.

 

i also dig the white stangs too, but i've got 2 months to decide. i could always get my engine bay painted.

any other suggestions

 

Black is awesome but hard to keep clean. White is easy to keep clean but is to plain IMO. It all depends on how much you're willing to spend though...

 

If you're going to change the color of your car, be prepared to spend a good chunk of cash to get it done properly. If you skimp on it, you'll hate the car. When I bought my fox it was red. I don't like red cars so, I painted it black. [:@] ... When you look in the corner of the car you can see the red. There's red in the engine bay ... I'm going to get it redone but it's going to cost me like $3000.

 

i know a dude in orlando who does paint jobs if you know him type of thing. he charges around 800-1000 on a paint job but takes a month to do it.


as long as its done right and my daily driver works, i'm cool with that, imo.

 

i've seen him do an 800 dollar paint job on an lx model, blue with stripes. and it came out pristine but took a month.

 

i'd pay $800 for a paint job!
