Default My Engine Build.

i've been trying to decide what i wanted to do with a spare 302 i had sitting in my basement, and i finally decided to build a N/A 347 for some street, but mostly track application. ( basically enough streetability to drive to the track and home), My goal is to hit 450+rwhp N/A from my 347. this build will take a year for the motor due to me doing all the work on it. I have a full shop at my disposal. i will be putting the engine in something no one expects, so much so i dont even know what its going to be in.

i have disassembled the short block ( took like 10-15mins), hopefully sometime within the next 2 days ill have pics of every nook and cranny for you guys to help me out with looking for damage to the block.

I will try to keep this thread updated every week or as things happen to the build.

Any Input will be appreciated.

You better put some spray ora supercharger to meet your goal and if you go far past 450rwhp your going to split the block anyway

why would i need spray or a supercharger? its way more than possible tho reach ~530hp N/a with a 331, you loose streetability and it becomes a track car.....and the block is on no danger at 450rwhp more like 500rwhp+ becomes the ticking time bomb

AFR 205's, nice custom solid roller, Vic Jr or Super Vic intake, compresssssiiiiiiiooooooonnnnnn!!!!! It'll sound nice. If it were me, I may try to build it to the absolute limit of pump fuel, say 11:1 with a huge cam. At least that way when you take it out the occasional weekend, you don't have to add octane booster or go home to get fuel.

Its kool, and ya i know you can make that kind of power with a 347 just most people dont realize the top dollar and things you hae to do to make it happen, like 67 said we are talkin solid roller and very very high revs

well, here are the parts i am looking at.
91 5.0 block
scat steel crank
DSS/ KB flat top pistons (lightweight)
Solid .540" lift roller grind, i know i will need at least 250+* of duration (this is still up in the air right now)
1.7 rockers ( not sure how much good it'll do me over the 1.6's)
i will be using stock Iron's, ported of course, for a little while just to make sure its running right with those ( ill be looking for aboutt 375-400hp)
ARP studs
then whne i ge tthe money AFR 205's
****who makes some good pushrods?***

I was thinking about the Super vid intake, and have it polished up

topped off with a demon 750
Full MSD ignition with 9.5mm wires

Over all im looking to spin about 7k rpms
