so i had the car on a dyno for the first time on saturday

i dont have the paper w me so i cant tell you everything but 270hp and 294lbs
how sicks is that??? those are s197 gt numbers (there was one on the dyno before me)

just to get an idea here are my mods

ford gt40 crate engine (aluminum heads and e cam) with stock intake and injectors
bbk longtubes and offroad h with flows
aluminum flywheel and aluminum driveshaft
bbk cold air intake

my question is this:

the first run got those numbers, but the second and third got dramatically lower numbers, the dyno guy said its prolly cause it got really hot and i should get a colder thermostate to sustain the power in the upper rpms
anyone experience that same power loss after the first or second dyno pass?

 

How much lower are you talkin. I never experienced lower numbers onadditionalpulls but i have an awesome cooling system.

i have a stock cooling system because i still havent installed my aluminum radiator and electric fan. waiting to get enough money for an alternator upgrade

im thinking that or slipping clutch?

 

its normal to lose about 5-10 hp after a bunch of passes, its just heat sink. btw nice numbers,,sounds about right to me

 

whoah!!!! 50 hp? somethings wrong.........

tell the guy not to let it heat up or get a better cooling system
