Default Exhaust Q's and soundclip req.

Hey guys,

I have a stock 86 Mustang GT 5.0/5spd. I'm 16 so it's got plenty of power for me. lol I don't wanna do anything to it, cause I really can't afford it, and I just don't want to. lol But I do wanna upgrade the exhaust wich I know will give me a few extra ponies, not enough to notice a major difference, but they'll be there. lol Heres my exhaust plans and my questions, I'm gonna do bbk shorty headers, a bbk H or X pipe, and probly some classic cherry bomb glasspack mufflers. So first off, I wanna know is there any performance differences between H and X pipes? If so what? And what changes in the sound between H and X? Also does anyone have a good soundclip of a 5.0 running any kinda glasspacks?

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks,
Tony[/align]

x pipes are suppose to produce a little better power.. not much though..and as far as glass packs[:'(]......not many have sound clips of such cause not many run them cause they just don't sound good on a mustang

dont go cheap, and youll have a nice sounding car.

if i was 16, with a mustang, id just do it to have a loud obnoxious car.

prob be cheaper to cut open your stock exhaust and gut them, then to pay someone to weld in cherrybombs.

belive me, if you spend the money on the exhaust, you will be alot happer.

x pipe is a little louder, and "raspier" for lack of a better word than an h pipe..will also give you a whopping 1 or 2 hp more than an H pipe...i have an x pipe, and will never get an h pipe..i LOVE my x..its ALL opinnion though

arent magnapacks and lm2s essentially glasspacks?

if your not realy wanting to spend much or do much to your mustang then all you realy need to do is change out the catback. the stock headers and mid pipe do suck but as you said you dont realy want to do much to the car, if i were you id find a nice cat back and call it a day.

Well, my stock headers have a few holes in them, and I really wanna just get a new set of headers and a new midpipe. As for any welding, I wont have to pay, my bro welds, alot. I'll prolly just get some 2-chamber flows with the header and midpipe and call it a day.
