Have you had it tuned or run on the dyno? How do your plugs look? Are you sure you don't have a brake hanging up?

What have you done to try and fix it? Anything make improvements?

These runs were friday night all I've done is pulled it off the trailer and put it in the garage. I'll pull a plug today. No dyno or tune yet. I'll go thru the carb this week along with double checking timing and valves.I GUESS THAT IS THE PLACE TO START?

I would start with pulling the plugs, my 347 was not running as I thought it should, then I found I was fouling plugs in about 10 min. Found that by changing to a 50,000 v. coil and useing AC irridium plugs, the longest I could find fixed it right up!Use the same heat range, but the longest length you can find, the problem with most alum. heads is it takes a longer plug to get near the optimun position in the cylinder. It has never fouled another plug and performs like it should. My point is see what the plugs look like, they will tell you whats going on inside. Second, borrow another carb and see how that one performs, might have a prob with the one you have and not know it. You should easily be running below 12.5, next look at the tranny, if you see good revs. but the car isn't keeping up I would say a worn out converter or in need of a rebuild. Sounds to me like it revs good but losing all that power before it gets to the wheels.

Changed both lower and upper control arms to bbk. Anyone suggest a plug to start with. Pulled them out and they are a flat black all over 3924 autolites right now Trans is brand new. i got a new converter but it didn't seem to leave hard enough with it. I put the old one back in its possible the conveter is messed up. My old trans had burnned the clutch bands up. I'll change plugs go thru the carb and put the new converter back in. Is that to much to do at once?
