Default power window problem

I have a '95 GT, yesterday the passenger window went down fine but on the way up it stopped the motor acted like it was still trying to put the window up even after the button was released. So I bumped it down a little , the motor stopped. I havn't touched it since. I love my cars and am fairly handy with any aspect of repairs EXCEPT ELECTRONICS anyone that can and /or will give me any "constructive" advice I would really appreciate it.

regulator may be broken....if you can hear the motor work then that would be the assumption

I went to the garage and pulled up on the window and pushed the up button at the same time, with my help the window went up. something in the door acted like it was slipping and then catching ( like a wheel in there not getting traction on some other part) Does that sound like the regulator? If so do I need a new one orare there adjustments that can be made to the existing regulator??[&:]

Sounds like the bushing in the motor are shot. Take the panel off and remove the three bolts holding the motor on. Then remove the motor and remove thescrew holding the black cover over the gear. There should be three white nylon bushing in there. They are probably broken into a thousand peices. You can replace those witht some bushings (ford dealer may have them) or you can use 6 5/16"-18 nuts just make three stacks of two. I would suggest doing both doors so you know they will be good for another 10 years (or forever is you use the nuts).
