Drop in the 351 and 4.11 locking rear-end, a nice exhaust and headers, and a high-flow air intake. You just might get the times you're hoping for.

im goin with the rest and saying 351. the 351 blocks supposedly hold an extra 100 or so horsepower too. so later on down the road iff you wanna go the stroker route or a some nitrous you can get some better numbers withoutturning your engine into a pair of 4cyders

I opened up the 302 in the Mustang today. I found stock E7's, and a stock engine. I was told this stupid thing was rebuilt and the heads were ported. That is a big stinking pile of bull****. I think all the previous moron did was put a cam and intake in it. The intake gaskets looked like crap. I wonder if water was leaking into the ports causing my water loss. The head gasket looked ok.

I talked to a machine shop today too. They think a 351 is a good idea too. It would cost so much in parts and machine work I wouldn't have anything left over for all the other things I'd need. I'm still liking the idea if I can get everything together. It may take a while.
