Default 5.0 engine swap question

I was wondering if anyone could tell me the difference between an 86 mustang5.0 H.O short block and a 5.0 efi short block out of a Grand Marquee? I was interested in swapping out the short blocks but wasn't sure if there was a difference. Thanks for your help in advance.

Just get a 87-92 Mustang long block. 86 heads suck and have flat pistons. The 87-92 have forged notched pistons and E7's where 86 have E6, E7's suck but are better than E6

The Grand Marquis is a flat tappet engine where as the Mustang has a Hyd. Roller cam with a 351W firing order.
Like mentioned above. You really want a 87-93 engine from either a Mustang or a Lincoln Mark VII. Both are HO engines.
